I am 16 years old, and I have been interested and around horses all my life. My parents keep nagging me to get a job, or even get my 40 hours of volunteer service for high school. So I have decided that i'm going to take their advice, and try to get a job or volunteer! But i'm going to attempt this at one of the nearest horse stables around where I live. Like I said, i'm an experienced rider and ive taken care of horses before in my life, and i know the down to earth basics and what you need to do to tack them up, groom them, etc. My question is, how can I approach an Equestrian Stable and ask if there would be any space for me to volunteer and help around the barn, or even get a job if needed? Any help is greatly appreciated! In the future, Im even looking into part boarding (if my parents let me, that is) Which will probably be a no anyways.

What I recommend is calling up the stable, or better yet, going over there and seeing if you can either talk to the stable manager or the owner of the barn. Bring along a resume to give to them when you talk to them. Explain what you are looking for (part-time, full-time, paid, volunteer, etc) and your experience. Then hand them the resume, tell them that you were glad to meet them and that they have a lovely place (only make it sound more sincere lol), shake their hand, and say that you're looking forward to hearing back from them.
