I just got an arabian, and I want to do pleasure with her. The only problem is she was only a halter horse, so it is almost impossible to get her to canter. I want to possibly do saddle seat and western for sure. I mostly need tips for saddle seat since i've never shown in it before.
"she was only a halter horse, so it is almost impossible to get her to canter" Piffle - lots of halter horses are also shown in pleasure classes. Guessing you don't know how to ASK for the canter.
Saddle Seat and Western Pleasure require TOTALLY different frames and ways of going.

Not saying the same horse can't do both...AM saying you need Experience (and a horse with the ability) to train the horse to do so.
KarinC? what say you?

Just random curiosity. Do they have multi purpose western saddles that you could like barrel race, rein, cut, whatever in? Maybe not like the best ever, but to try all that stuff?
yes they do. it is called a "ranch" saddle.it is an all purpose saddle that is used in all activities on a ranch from branding to fixing fence. almost all western saddles you can use for any activity except you may not want to use your show saddle to rope cattle for branding or break horses. someone came up with the brilliant idea to start calling a saddle for a specific purpose and it stuck but in all reality they all serve the same purpose.

I want to take of the conchos and silver (only has silver where the back cinch goes) off my saddle and change it. It's really cheap and cheesy looking, so I wanna put better looking conchos and silver on it.
I can handle the conchos, but I'm unfamiliar with the silver.
I've heard of people putting silver on themselves. How do they do that?
And where can I find that piece of silver?
The silver piece is on the billet slot.

Welcome to the world of western bling!
You can order almost anything you like through Montana Silversmiths-- they are the number one supplier of quality saddle silver. Note: You can probably Google "Saddle Silver Trim" and find other suppliers, but I would be more tempted to stick with Montana Silversmiths unless you can see the silver before buying it. Some companies sell really junk cheap silver. MS sells quality.
As for taking it off and putting it on, unless you can see the rivets or screws holding on the silver, you will probably have to find a saddlemaker or repair place that can carefully split the seams on the side of your saddle, to get to the screws. Then once they change out the silver, they can sew it back shut, good as new.
Enjoy your shopping. Oh, and the billet piece you are talking about is either a rigging plate or a cinch carrier plate, I think. Let me know if I'm wrong.
